Investigation Affects Around 400,000 F-150 Pickups
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has opened an investigation into 2011 - 2013 Ford F-150 trucks equipped with a 3.5L EcoBoost engine after receiving 95 complaints saying the engine lost power during acceleration.
According to NHTSA, the problem arises "...during hard accelerations at highway speeds, such as attempted merging or passing maneuvers." About a third of these complaints say the loss of power happened during wet or humid weather. The good news is that no crashes or injuries have resulted from this problem.
