New Car Rebates and Incentives: November 28, 2013

Black Friday is here, and with it comes a host of rebates and incentives valid throughout the holiday week.  We kick off our list of deals with the 2013 Buick Encore compact crossover and its offer of 1.9% financing or $500 cash back, followed by the compact 2013 Mazda MAZDA3 and its choice of zero percent financing or $2,000 cash back.  The 2014 Ford Escape compact crossover features zero percent financing plus $500 cash back or $2,000 in total cash rebates, while the 2013 Chevrolet Volt hybrid delivers 0.0% financing or an exceptional $7,000 cash back.  The last vehicle for this week is the 2013 Toyota Prius hybrid and its choice between zero percent financing or $1,000 in factory cash back.

2013 Buick Encore

The 2013 Buick Encore is a five-passenger compact SUV that offers premium accommodations for those who need a bit more interior room than what a compact sedan has to offer.  In addition to its quiet cabin, the Buick Encore also offers 48.4 cubic feet of total cargo space.

The 2013 Buick Encore features a 1.4-liter, four-cylinder engine that produces 138 turbocharged horsepower and 148 lb-ft of torque.  A six-speed automatic transmission is standard with the Encore, and the SUV can be ordered with the option of all-wheel drive.  Fuel mileage for the Buick checks in at 25-mpg in city driving and 33-mpg on the highway.

2013 Mazda MAZDA3

The 2013 Mazda MAZDA3 is a compact car that can be had in either sedan or hatchback body styles.  The Mazda MAZDA3 is known for its above-average handling, making it much more engaging to drive than many other rivals in its class.

The 2013 Mazda MAZDA3 asks buyers to choose from one of three four-cylinder engine options.  The base 2.0-liter unit generates 148 horsepower and 135 lb-ft of torque, while the next-step-up Skyactiv 2.0-liiter bumps production to 155 horses and 148 lb-ft of torque.  The top-tier 2.5-liter motor is listed at 167 horsepower and 168 lb-ft of twist.  Fuel mileage for the Skyactiv mill leads the pack with a rating of 28-mpg city and 40-mpg highway, and transmission choices for the MAZDA3 include five and six-speed manuals and automatics.

2014 Ford Escape

The 2014 Ford Escape is an all-new compact crossover that marries efficiency with practicality for family shoppers.  The Ford Escape can seat up to five passengers, and with the rear row folded forward it can accommodate as much as 68.1 cubic feet of cargo.

The 2014 Ford Escape's entry-level 2.5-liter engine produces 168 horsepower and 167 lb-ft of torque, while its high-output 2.0-liter turbocharged EcoBoost four-cylinder option provides 240 horses and 270 lb-ft of torque.  In the middle sits a 1.6-liter EcoBoost turbo four-cylinder that is good for 178 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque.  Fuel mileage for the latter shows as 23-mpg around town and 33-mpg on the highway.

2013 Chevrolet Volt

The 2013 Chevrolet Volt is a hybrid car that needs almost no introduction.  This compact hatchback offers a premium driving experience and a well turned-out interior for those who are interested in minimizing their environmental impact when behind the wheel.

The 2013 Chevrolet Volt combines a battery-powered electric motor with a small gas-fired four-cylinder engine that serves primarily as a generator.  Together, the arrangement produces 148 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque.  On battery power alone, the Volt can travel up to 50 miles, and afterward its gas engine gives it an additional 300 miles of range.

2013 Toyota Prius

The 2013 Toyota Prius prides itself on its exceptional fuel mileage, which is officially advertised as 51-mpg in stop and go driving and 48-mpg on the highway.  A 1.8-liter, four-cylinder engine paired with two electric motors makes this efficiency possible, and total system output shows as 134 horsepower.
