BMW soft close automatic doors are doors that automatically close softly and quietly. When the door is within approximately a quarter of an inch from closed a sensor activates an electric motor to pull the door closed. The system activates whenever a door is closed, even if done manually, to ensure that the door closes completely. Once the door has been pulled shut the system engages the automatic locks. The result is doors that always close properly without effort or loud unpleasant noises.
