Mercedes-Benz C-Class Is The Most Stolen Luxury Vehicle

California and Mercedes-Benz lead the way in the National Insurance Crime Bureau's luxury vehicle theft report published this week.

California has the highest number of stolen luxury vehicles with 1,063 vehicles stolen between 2009 through 2012. Florida comes in second with 674 vehicles and New Jersey rounds out the top three with 453 vehicles. When you break it down by region, it's the northeast that leads the way. The New York-Northern New Jersey-Long Island area leads the way with 806 luxury vehicles stolen between 2009 through 2012. Los Angeles-Long Beach-Santa Ana, California was next with 491 vehicles, followed closely by Miami- Fort Lauderdale-Pompano Beach, Florida with 452 vehicles. The New York-Northern New Jersey-Long Island area also has highest amount of unrecovered vehicles with 257 vehicles.

As for the most stolen vehicles, the Mercedes-Benz C-Class is on top with 485 models stolen. That's followed by the BMW 3-Series with 471 and the Infiniti G with 405. Mercedes-Benz also has the most vehicles in the top ten with the E-Class at 381 and the S-Class at 163.
