Need to keep the family occupied while you’re on the road in your SUV or crossover? Whether you’re on an epic family road trip or just out running your weekly errands, a rear-seat DVD entertainment system can hold the kids' attention for mile after mile. Unfortunately, factory-installed DVD players are not available on all models.
While DVD entertainment systems are fairly popular on three-row SUVs, they’re much less common on smaller two-row models. A competent automotive audio shop can outfit a vehicle with a DVD system at a reasonable cost, and the best aftermarket installations are as well-integrated as factory-installed systems. But if you'd rather have the DVD player built in by the automaker, here are 10 used SUVs and crossovers to consider.
Blu-ray DVD entertainment systems are available in the 2015 Escalade and extended-length Escalade ESV. The systems offer 9-inch displays, with a single overhead screen in the Escalade and dual screens in the Escalade ESV. Connectivity via OnStar's 4G LTE or Wi-Fi hotspot is offered in some models.
The Escalade was redesigned for the 2015 model year, setting a new standard for American luxury, with a sumptuous interior finished in cut and sewn leather upholstery and real wood trim. It’s is the most luxurious three-row entry on our list, and one of the most exclusive as well. Slightly under 36,000 Escalades were sold in 2015. There's nothing like rolling large in an Escalade ESV, with Hollywood's finest playing on the dual LCD screens.
