10 Trucks with Bench Seats

Once upon a time in America, bench seats were the norm in pickup trucks and family sedans alike. Bucket seats were an exotic notion back in the day, reserved for sports cars, fancy cars, muscle cars and imports (whether fancy or not). As floor-mounted shifters grew in popularity, they sprouted center consoles and the move away from column-mounted shifters spread like the plague from passenger cars to pickup trucks. While you can’t buy a new family sedan with a bench seat these days, split-bench seats are available in all of the half- and three-quarter-ton pickup trucks currently on the market. While bench seats can be rare in the higher trim levels, if you’re looking for a smaller pickup with a bench, you’re completely out of luck. The Chevrolet Colorado, GMC Canyon, Nissan Frontier, and Toyota Tacoma are only available with bucket seats. The advantage of having a bench seat in your truck is that there is room for an extra passenger. Over thime though, the number of vehicles with bench seats has been reduced to full size pickups and large SUVs.

2016 Ford F-150

The 2016 Ford F-150 offers 40/20/40 bench seats in the XL, XLT, and Lariat trim levels. Cloth upholstery is standard in the XL and XLT, with vinyl available as an option in the XL. The upscale Lariat features leather upholstery, 10-way power driver and passenger adjustment, along with driver memory, and heated and cooled seats. The base F-150 XL has a starting MSRP of $26,540, while the XLT lists for $31,905. Both the XL and XLT are equipped with a naturally-aspirated 3.5-liter V6 engine and are available in Regular Cab, SuperCab and SuperCrew configurations. The Lariat is equipped with a 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 and lists for $40,645. It’s only available as a SuperCab or Super Crew. 40/20/40 split bench seats are not available in the luxurious King Ranch or Platinum models.

2016 Ford Super Duty F-250 and F-350

Ford’s 2016 Super Duty pickup trucks offer 40/20/40 bench seats in the XL, XLT, and Lariat trim levels. The F-250 and F-350 XL are fitted with vinyl upholstery, with cloth available as an option. XLT models feature cloth upholstery. A leather trimmed 40/console/40 split bench is standard in the Lariat, with a full 40/20/40 leather bench available as an option. The center seat folds forward to provide a generously-sized armrest with storage, as well as a pair of cupholders. The Ford F-250 XL has a starting MSRP of $32,385. The F-350 XL starts at $33,280.

2016 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

The 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 offers 40/20/40 bench seats in the WT, LS, LT, and LTZ trim levels. The WT is fitted with vinyl upholstery, with cloth available as an option. The LS and LT feature standard cloth upholstery, with heated leather seating available as an option in the LT. The cloth material is designed for durability and stain resistance. The center bench section folds down to provide an armrest with a storage compartment and 3 cupholders. The LTZ is equipped with a leather-trimmed bench that features 10-way power adjustment for the driver and passenger, with power lumbar support and driver’s 2-position memory. The LT Convenience option package includes 10-way power adjustment. The 2016 Chevy Silverado’s base MSRP starts at $27,095.

2016 Chevrolet Silverado HD

The 2016 Chevrolet Silverado HD is fitted with 40/20/40 bench seats in the WT, LS, and LTZ models as standard equipment. All 3 models have a fold-down center armrest with covered storage and 3 cupholders. The WT’s bench seat is fitted with vinyl upholstery, with cloth available optionally. The LS features cloth upholstery, with an optional heated leather-trimmed bench seat. The LTZ has standard leather seating, along with a lockable storage compartment beneath the seat. The 3500HD’s base starts at $34,055. The top of the range Silverado HD High Country is not available with a bench seat. The 2016 Chevy Silverado 2500HD’s base MSRP starts at $32,955.

2016 GMC Sierra 1500

The 2016 GMC Sierra 1500 offers 3-passenger 40/20/40 split bench seats in cloth, vinyl, and leather. The fold-down center section includes a storage compartment and cupholders. The cloth seats feature manual recline and lumbar adjustment, while the leather-trimmed 3-passenger split bench features heated seats, 10-way power adjustment with power recline and lumbar for driver and passenger, and 2-position driver memory. You’ll need to order the SLT or check off the correct options to get all the goodies with the SLE. The 2WD V6 Sierra 1500 has a starting MSRP of $28,910 with a regular cab and long box. Unfortunately, the Sierra 1500 Denali is not available with a bench seat.

2016 GMC Sierra HD

The 2016 GMC Sierra HD offers 40/20/40 bench seats in vinyl, cloth, and leather upholstery, depending on model and options. Cloth seats have manually adjustable lumbar support. The center seat folds down to a center console with storage and and 3 cupholders. The SLE model features under seat storage. The SLT is fitted with leather upholstery, 10-way power driver and passenger power adjustment with power lumbar and 2-position driver memory. The Sierra 2500HD’s starting MSRP is $33,535 while the Sierra 3500HD starts at $34,635. The Sierra HD Denali is available exclusively with bucket seats. Front bench seating is not available.

2016 Ram 1500

The 2016 RAM 1500 offers more trim level choices than any of the competing half-ton pickup trucks. The Ram 1500 Tradesman ($26,145), Express ($27,575), Big Horn ($33,760), and Laramie ($39,655) trim levels are all available with a 40/20/40 split front bench seat. The Tradesman and Express have vinyl upholstery and manual seat adjustment. The Big Horn has cloth upholstery and a 10-way power driver seat with power lumbar. The Laramie is fitted with leather upholstery and 10-way power adjustment. All models include a center seat that folds down to a center console with storage and 3 cupholders. The Big Horn and Laramie’s fold-down consoles include a 115-volt outlet and under seat storage in Quad and Crew Cabs.

2016 Ram HD

The 2016 Ram HD offers the most bench seating choices of all three-quarter-ton trucks, with a 40/20/40 split bench in the 3500 Tradesman ($32,285), SLT ($36,595), Big Horn ($42,485), and Laramie ($47,520) trim levels. Front bench seats are not available in the Laramie Longhorn or Limited models. In addition to the 2500 HD versions of the previously mentioned models, split bench seats are available in the RAM 2500 HD Lone Star, Outdoorsman ($46,445), Power Wagon Tradesman ($46560) and Laramie Power Wagon ($57,680). The Tradesman and Power Wagon Trademan are fitted with vinyl upholstery, with work-grade vinyl available as an option. The SLT features cloth upholstery, while the Big Horn and Lone Star offer premium cloth upholstery. The Laramie and Laramie Power Wagon are equipped with heated and ventilated leather front seats. All models have a center seat that folds down into an armrest with storage and cupholders. The console in the Laramie, Laramie Power Wagon, Big Horn and Lone Star includes a 115-volt outlet.

2016 Nissan Titan XD

The 2016 Nissan Titan XD offers split bench seats in the S and SV trim levels. The SV is fitted with cloth seats while the S features cloth seats with vinyl boosters. 4-way driver/passenger manual adjustment is standard for both models. 8-way driver power adjustment with power lumbar is optional in the SV. Bucket seats are optional in the SV and standard in the P4X, SL and Platinum Reserve. The Titan S has a starting MSRP of $35,290 with the 5.6-liter V8 gasoline engine and $40,290 with the 5.0-liter Cummins turbodiesel engine. The Titan SV has a starting MSRP of $39,060 with the gas-powered V8.

2016 Toyota Tundra

The 2016 Toyota Tundra offers bench seats in the SR and SR5 trim levels. The SR is available as a regular or double cab, while the SR5 is offered in double cab or CrewMax versions. Both models feature a 40/20/40 split bench with 4-way adjustable driver and passenger seats with cloth upholstery. The SR can be equipped with optional vinyl upholstery. The 2016 Toyota Tundra SR has a starting MSRP of $29,950. The SR5 starts at $30,950. The Tundra TRD Pro, Limited, Platinum, and 1794 Edition are only available with bucket seats.
