The 2025 Ram 1500 is new this year with plenty of changes from engines to technology to trim levels. There are two new Hurricane engines that deliver more power with improved efficiency along with an updated exterior design that gives the Ram 1500 more modern styling.
At the top of the lineup, there’s the all-new Tungsten trim that delivers a true premium experience with upgraded materials and ample convenience features. New on the infotainment front is a larger touchscreen and a second screen just for the passenger. Tech and safety features get attention, too, making the Ram 1500 a more appealing truck. Here are the 10 best features of the new 2025 Ram 1500.
This year, the Ram 1500 gets two new twin-turbo engines in addition to the 3.6-liter V6. These provide more power and better fuel efficiency. The 3.0-liter 6-cylinder Hurricane is available as either a standard output or high output depending on your power needs. The standard output provides 420 horsepower with 469 lb-ft of torque. The high output bumps those figures to 540 horsepower and 521 lb-ft of torque.
Those are impressive numbers that make towing and hauling easier with the horsepower and torque to manage big jobs. Both are paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission that delivers smooth shifts, even under hard acceleration, for a more comfortable ride.

Available four-wheel drive lets you take the Ram 1500 off road easily, but those who have big plans for hitting the dirt have a dedicated off-road trim: the Rebel. It has standard four-wheel drive with the new Hurricane engine along with an electronic-locking differential, tow hooks, off-road calibrated shocks, and unique off-road decals.
There are skid plates for the front suspension system, transfer case, power steering, and fuel tank to protect you truck on the most challenging terrain. Hill descent control and all terrain tires are also standard, making this the most capable and off-road-worthy trim in the Ram 1500 lineup.

The Ram 1500 now offers a power opening and closing tailgate with obstacle detection. If equipped with this option, the tailgate can be operated with a button on the key fob. In addition, the multi-function tailgate continues to be a part of the Ram 1500 lineup.
This tailgate opens as a traditional drop-down tailgate, but also splits 60/40 to swing open left and right. This makes it easier to climb into the bed or to simply reach in to stow or retrieve cargo. It’s also a handy feature when there’s not a lot of room and dropping the full tailgate isn’t possible.

Sitting at the top of the trim lineup is the new Tungsten trim. This new ultra-premium trim combines capability with premium features for a more elevated driving experience. Heated and ventilated seats with quilted Natura Plus leather and 24-way power adjustability ensure front passengers ride in comfort. Those seats also offer massage, power lumbar, and four-way powered headrests. An inlaid metal “Tungsten” badge sits on the center console while a crystal-effect gear shift cap adds even more visual appeal. A 23-speaker Klipsch audio system rounds out the Tungsten package.

Improvements to the infotainment system include not just larger screens, but more screens. The standard touchscreen grows to 12 inches and gets better resolution. There’s also an available 14.5-inch touchscreen with split-screen capability. These large screens add to the upscale look of the Ram 1500 and make the system easier to use.
System improvements to Uconnect 5 make it five times faster than the prior generation so there’s no delay when you tap the screen. The passenger gets in on the action, too, with a dedicated 10.25-inch screen. This allows for the management of navigation, connected devices, entertainment, and exterior vehicle cameras without distracting the driver.

When equipped with the Hurricane engine, the Ram 1500 offers an on-board power inverter. It gives you power when you need it no matter where you are, whether out for a weekend of fun or trying to get work done on the job site.
This offers up to 1.8 kilowatts of power through two covered outlets in the bed. Those outlets are turned on through the touchscreen and with a switch located just to the left of the outlets to provide power when the truck is in park. In models equipped with the 3.6-liter V6, the engine can run the inverter while the truck is in motion.

Each of the 23 speakers is specially tuned to provide optimum sound. In addition, there’s a high-performing 12-inch subwoofer and two 1-inch titanium dome tweeters. Those who appreciate high-quality sound will love the rich audio experience delivered by this premium system.

The Ram 1500 offers advanced driver assistance technologies designed to make driving safer and easier. This includes active driving assist, which is hands on the wheel and eyes on the road automated driving that uses lane centering and adaptive cruise control. It also employs sensors including radar and cameras to determine when it’s safe to operate this technology.
There’s also hands-free driving assist for hands-free driving at all speeds and lane centering on approved roads. It can even slow the vehicle on tight turns to maintain confident control. Though not full self-driving, this technology is a step toward an autonomous future.
