The 2023 Honda Accord is all-new, bringing a fresh look and new features to this popular mid-size sedan. It’s available in six trims, making it easy to find one that suits your needs. There are two trims with a gas engine while the rest of the lineup gets the most powerful hybrid engine ever used in the Accord.
Outside, styling is sleek and sporty while the interior benefits from more premium materials. New front seats have improved support and the cabin is quieter for a less tiring drive when the trip is long. There’s also a standard digital instrument cluster and a large infotainment touchscreen that give the Accord a more tech forward, upscale appeal. Here are the 10 best features of the 2023 Honda Accord.
The 2023 Honda Accord has six trims. The two base trims feature a gas engine while the rest of the lineup gets a new hybrid engine. Standard on the base LX at $27,295 is the Honda Sensing safety suite, a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, a 7-inch infotainment touchscreen, a 6-way manual driver’s seat, and cloth seating surfaces. It’s well-equipped at a surprisingly affordable price.
At the top of the lineup, the Touring at $37,340, has heated and ventilated front seats, heated outboard rear seats, a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, a 12-speaker Bose audio, Qi wireless charging, leather seating surfaces, a 10-way power driver’s seat, a moonroof, and dual-zone automatic climate control. In between are four additional trims, giving you lots of choices with pricing for every budget.

The bulk of the Accord lineup is powered by a new 2.0-liter 4-cylinder hybrid engine with 204 net system horsepower and 247 lb-ft of torque paired to a continuously variable automatic transmission with front-wheel drive only. This is the most powerful hybrid engine ever offered by the Accord, and it delivers solid performance.
It has strong acceleration that helps make the Accord a more engaging drive, and it also gets good fuel economy so it’s easy on your wallet. EPA-estimated fuel economy is up to 51 mpg in the city, 44 mpg on the highway, and 48 mpg combined for the hybrid, making it the one to pick for those who put a priority on fuel economy.

Although the hybrid engine is the one found on the bulk of the Accord lineup, base trims have a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine with 192 horsepower and a matching 192 lb-ft of torque. Like the hybrid, this comes paired to a continuously variable automatic transmission with front-wheel drive only.
This setup doesn’t boast the same power as the hybrid, but for those who prefer a gas engine, it provides robust performance. The turbocharged engine delivers good acceleration with ample power for passing slower vehicles at highway speeds. It also gets good fuel economy with 29 mpg in the city, 32 mpg on the highway, and 32 mpg combined.

The 2023 Honda Accord gets new body stabilizing front seats for a more comfortable ride. They feature special internal structures that provide better support for your whole body. There’s even a specially designed resin mat within the seat that specifically targets the pelvis and spine and a new seat bottom that reduces pelvic tilt. This isn’t’ something you consciously feel, but rather you simply feel less weary after hours behind the wheel.
In addition, these new seats stabilize your body, reducing the G forces exerted while driving. This helps reduce arm movement and lets you maintain a more consistent line of sight. Altogether, these unseen improvements make the 2023 Honda Accord a more comfortable car to drive.

While people think of SUVs as being the go-to vehicles for when you need to carry cargo, that doesn’t mean you don’t need a space for your stuff in a sedan. The 2023 Honda Accord has plenty of room for cargo, whether small items in the cabin or larger items in the trunk. Inside, the center console has a large storage compartment and there’s a spot for your smartphone just ahead of the shifter.
In the back, there’s 16.7 cubic feet of cargo room in the trunk with a wide trunk opening to manage bulkier cargo. Adding to the Accord’s cargo versatility are standard fold-down rear seats with an available 60/40 split-fold.

Standard on the full 2023 Honda Accord lineup is a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster. In gas trims, that display includes a tachometer, but in hybrid trims, it displays a power flow meter. This lets you more easily monitor how efficiently you’re driving and whether you’re relying on the electric battery or gas engine from moment to moment.
There’s also either a 7-inch or 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen with a crisp, clear display. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard with wireless connectivity in hybrid trims. A 12-speaker Bose audio system and Qi wireless charging are available, and the system can accept over-the-air (OTA) software updates.

The ability to choose your drive mode lets you tailor vehicle response to road conditions or your driving preferences. Equipped with the gas engine, there are two modes. Normal provides a balance between performance and efficiency. There’s also Econ, which reduces throttle response and even makes the air conditioning more efficient to improve fuel economy.
Hybrid trims add a Sport mode that delivers increased throttle response for a more engaging drive experience. There’s also an Individual mode on hybrids. This lets the driver individually adjust settings from engine responsiveness to steering assist to suit their personal tastes.

The Honda Sensing safety suite is standard on the Accord with both new and improved features for this model year. Improvements include a new front sensor camera with a 40-degree wider field of view and radar now tucked behind the Honda logo in the grille for a 70-degree wider field of view. New features include traffic jam assist, traffic sign recognition, and low speed braking control.
There’s also collision mitigation braking, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, lane keeping assist, road departure mitigation, lane departure warning, low speed brake control, and blind-spot warning. A rear seatbelt reminder and rear seat reminder are also standard so nothing gets forgotten in the rear seats.

An SUV needs to split its priorities between cargo and people, but in a sedan, people come first. Especially in a mid-size sedan that’s more likely to have passengers in the rear seats, the ride needs to be smooth and quiet. The 2023 Honda Accord delivers both with an exceptionally quiet interior thanks to several key changes.
There are new carpet and dashboard insulators that help keep exterior sounds from entering the cabin. The Touring adds an acoustic laminated windshield and front door glass to further dampen intrusive sounds. There’s Active Noise Control to help reduce overall sound in the cabin and even wheels that help reduce resonance from imperfect pavement.

The 2023 Honda Accord offers a more premium experience thanks to an improvement in both design and materials. Base trims have attractive cloth seating surfaces with a 10-way power driver’s seat on all but the LX. A moonroof, heated front seats, and dual-zone climate control are also standard on this trim.
The Sport gets its own cloth upholstery, aluminum pedals, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob while the EX-L and Sport-L add leather seats and a 4-way power passenger seats. At the top, the Touring has ventilated front seats and even heated rear seats. It’s premium no matter the trim with attractive materials and a wide range of standard features.
