The 2012 Scion tC was named the top-rated sporty car in AutoPacific's 2012 Vehicle Satisfaction Awards (VSA). Based on more than 75,000 customer surveys that are used to calculate owner satisfaction for new cars, trucks, minivans and SUVs in 26 vehicle segments, the 2012 Scion tC grabbed the best-rated sporty car award. Scion tC owners obviously were highly satisfied with their car which helped the tC position itself as the highest-rated sporty car on the market.

Top-Rated Sporty Car: 2012 Scion tC

Up until the introduction of the new Scion FR-S, the Scion tC was as sporty as you could get in the Scion line-up, and the newly redesigned, second-generation tC introduced last year further helped solidify the car as the top-rated sporty car. The sporty exterior design of the Scion tC is complemented by an equally stylish interior that boasts features such as a flat-bottomed, racecar-inspired steering wheel, available push-button start and a practical hatchback layout maximizing cargo space. Adding to the new styling, the 2012 Scion tC was an even bigger candidate for the best-rated sporty car with its limited-production tC Release Series 7.0 and a new standard Pioneer audio system. The fact that the Scion tC, like all Scion models, is offered with a monospec packaging that gives buyers more ability to customize their cars possibly allowing them to be more satisfied with their purchase decision which may have helped push the tC to the top of the list as the highest-rated sporty car.

Top-Rated Sporty Car: 2012 Scion tC Competitors

As opposed to the performance-oriented sports car segment, the VSA for the top-rated sporty car seemed to focus more on styling than actual performance with the 2012 Scion tC beating other sport coupes like the Hyundai Veloster, Chevrolet Camaro and Dodge Challenger. All of these cars stand out to buyers with a unique, flashy appearance, but each still exhibits a decent amount of sportiness to be considered among the best-rated sporty cars on the market. The Scion tC may have scored the highest-rated sporty car spot thanks to being sized smaller than rivals like the Camaro, Challenger or Ford Mustang and having a more conventional design than the Veloster or Volkswagen Eos.
